The Estonian e-respository (E-varamu) portal is a gate enabling to make a search simultaneously over libraries, museums and archives. This portal integrates different databases and operates a modern search engine, aiming to build into a single point for searching and finding the entire digitally collected and stored cultural heritage in Estonia.
The e-repository portal shares the same software with the German digital library (www.deutsche-digitale-bibliothek.de). The software has been created by Fraunhofer Gesellschaft zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung e.V.
The Estonian e-repository portal is part of the Estonian Research Infrastructure Roadmap „Estonian e-Repository and Conservation of Collections (first stage)“ and an important component of the national research infrastructure.
The portal currently involves 11 partners (with 12 databases). The e-repository portal can be expanded to accommodate more databases with their growing content.
To create access to the e-repository portal in the internet, the official address of the portal (www.e-varamu.ee) and its logo or official name should be used.
