In most web browsers, you can zoom in and out by holding down the Ctrl key (the Cmd key in OS X) and pressing either the "+" or "-" key at the same time.
Another option is to use the mouse: hold down the Ctrl key and move the mouse scroll wheel. To return to normal size, press the Ctrl and 0 keys at the same time.

Online Catalogue

Introduction of the Online Catalogue

ONLINE CATALOGUE ESTER is the shared catalogue of the largest libraries of Estonia. The catalogue also contains records of items stored in university colleges and special libraries.
The compilation of the online catalogue started in 1999. Although the catalogue has since been continuously supplemented, it does not yet comprehensively reflect the collections of member libraries. The online catalogue ESTER contains records on books, periodicals, sheet music, sound recordings, online resources, etc. Articles published in the Estonian press and collections can be found in the database of Estonian articles ISE.

Online catalogue ESTER enables to:

  • Search the items in the catalogue by many search terms: Author, Title, Subject, Call Number, UDC, ISBN, etc.
  • Find the bibliographic and holdings data of books and other items
  • Find the exact location of the required item in the library
  • See whether the item is available or checked out
  • Request items for use on site or for checking out
  • Individually use many other library services (see My ESTER)
  • Send suggestions and purchase recommendations to libraries
  • Browse items which will be published shortly (see Publishing Soon)
  • Keep informed of the new acquisitions of your library

Smart device friendly online catalogue (m-ESTER)

The mobile-friendly online catalogue adapts to the size of the computer tab or mobile phone screen. The display is slightly different in the upright or horizontal position of the phone.

All functions of the online catalogue are also present in the m-ESTER. MARC full entry is displayed only in the horizontal position of the phone. Copies of books and journals are displayed in a more detailed way than before, and it is possible to sort the copies by the location, call number, status or notes by clicking on the header of the column. When all copies are displayed, it is possible to filter the entries by the status or location, and search by the data of the copy.

The online catalogue ESTER is managed by the Estonian Library Network Consortium (ELNET Consortium).
